House washing Wednesday finds us on Friday because of the 4th of July's our countries birthday. We're washing and restoring a native stone
home. Sometimes these homes are referred to as giraffe rock exteriors, they were inexpensive and produced locally from
materials found in plentiful supply in the Ozark Mountains, and the
style was most predominant on small houses, usually bungalows. Cleaned by Pete is power washing off years of mold, mildew and algae from
this homes sides here are a few pictures as we get under way on the final step in our multiple step cleaning process. Over the years dirt and grime build up on these homes and since they are constructed of "natural" materials they are subjected to the growth or mosses, liken, algae and other plants or plant life. We have taken a special interest in these home and have invested in tools, attachments as well as understand how and what cleans and restores them to there original look. There are small things the masons did that show up when cleaned placements of small rocks or doing things just for fun. The second picture shows two large matched stone faced next to each other. Did not notice this in the first before picture but are quite predominate in the after photo.

These picture were taken after the 2nd step, first we treat with
cleaners, soaps and an algaeside to kill what is growing on the home's
stone walls then power wash let dry and we will follow up with an
application of soap and cleaner once again and a rinse. You can see in
this drying process the stones are brighter and cleaner the mosses,
algae and liken are killed and have been scrubbed off. This readies the home for the final soap and cleaner with a good rinse. We have found over the years of cleaning it hard to clean the surface when there is stuff growing on it, first kill the growth then you can was the surface this takes several steps. Cleaned by Pete
